Referrals
Invite links, a leaderboard and role rewards for members who invite.
Referrals let your members grow the guild for you. Each member gets a personal invite link, and when someone joins through it the member gets the credit. You reward the best inviters with roles, the same way you reward anything else. Guild never pays cash for referrals.
Turn it on
- Open Admin, Referrals.
- Switch on Turn on referrals. Every member now sees an Invite friends card in the guild, with their own link.
- Optionally switch on Only verified people count. An invite then counts only once the person who joined holds the Verified person badge. Use it when you reward referrals with something worth farming.
Turning referrals off hides the card and the leaderboard. Invites already recorded are kept and count again if you turn it back on.
Reward referrers
Rewards use the roles you already have:
- Create a role, or open one you already have.
- Under Who gets it, add the Invite members requirement from the Guild group, and set Members to invite.
- Attach any reward, such as points, a Discord role or a Telegram group.
Stack roles for tiers: "Recruiter" at 3 invites, "Ambassador" at 10. A member who doesn't meet the requirement yet sees a Get your invite link button on the role.
Invite friends
While referrals are on, open the guild and find Invite friends. Copy or share Your invite link. It looks like guild.xyz/your-guild?ref=abcd2345. The card shows:
- how many people joined through your link, and how many of them don't count yet and why,
- your place on the leaderboard,
- the top five inviters.
Someone who opens your link before signing in is still credited. Guild remembers the link for 30 days on that device, so it counts once they sign in and join.
What counts
An invite is credited when all of these are true:
- referrals are on for the guild,
- the link is for this guild,
- the person who joined is not you,
- you are still a member,
- it is their first time joining the guild.
A credit counts only while the person you invited stays a member (and, with Only verified people count on, holds the badge). Leaving and rejoining never gives a second credit, to you or to anyone else. A broken or unknown link never stops anyone from joining. It just doesn't credit anyone.
The leaderboard
Admin, Referrals shows the full leaderboard, and members see the top five on their card. It ranks members by how many of their invites count. On a tie, whoever reached that count first ranks higher. Only people with at least one counted invite appear. The leaderboard shows only each person's rank, count, name and avatar, never their accounts, wallets or email.
Below it, Who invited whom is for admins only. It lists inviters with the most invitations first, and under each the people they invited: when, whether they are still a member, whether they are verified, and whether the invitation counts. An inviter whose invitations mostly do not count (people who never verify, or who left) is the sign of farming. Members never see this list.
Gotchas
- Counts can lag briefly. When someone loses their last role and is removed from the guild automatically, their inviter's count updates at the next refresh rather than straight away. When someone gains, loses or runs out of the Verified person badge, the people who invited them in guilds that count only verified invites are updated within moments. The leaderboard itself is up to 15 seconds behind.
- Past members can count. Guild has no record of memberships from before referrals existed, so someone who left your guild before then and rejoins through a link is treated as joining for the first time.
- Inviters who leave keep their recorded invites and stay on the leaderboard, but can't earn new ones until they rejoin.
