Points
Award points and run leaderboards.
A points reward adds points to a member's balance in one of your point systems when they get a role. Points live on Guild, each point system has its own leaderboard, and balances can unlock further roles.
Create a point system
The first points reward asks you to create a point system. Give it a name, such as "XP" or "Guild Points", and optionally an icon (PNG, JPG or SVG, up to 5 MB). You can run one point system across the guild, or several for different campaigns.
Manage your point systems, balances and leaderboards in the admin's Points module.
Add a points reward
- In the admin panel, open Spaces & roles, select the role, and under Unlocks press Add reward.
- Pick Points, then pick a point system or create one.
- Choose how many points the role gives:
- Static: a fixed amount, such as 50.
- Dynamic: an amount calculated from a member's data. Today the source is a native coin balance, multiplied by a rate you set and rounded down. For example, 10 points per 1 ETH held.
- Optionally open Advanced: Override platform defaults to change, for this reward only, what happens to the points in the cases below.
- Press Add reward.
Members claim the points from the role's reward card once they qualify.
When points are kept or deducted
Every point system has three settings, and each reward can override them:
| Setting | Default |
|---|---|
| When user loses role access | Keep |
| When user leaves guild | Deduct |
| When reward is deleted | Keep |
Points are kept as an append-only ledger, so a deduction is a new negative entry and the history stays complete. A member can't claim the same reward twice while their earlier claim stands. If their points for it were deducted, for example because they lost the role, they can claim it again once they requalify.
Use points
- Progression: require a points balance for higher roles with a points requirement.
- Leaderboards: every point system has one. Pro and above can export it.
- From your own code: grant or deduct points, read balances and the leaderboard through the REST API.
