Permissions

Unlock pages, or let members manage parts of the guild.

A permission reward lets the members of a role see something in your guild that others can't: a page or space, or a hidden role, reward or requirement. Gated pages are the main use: a holders-only feed, a chat for contributors, an announcements space for paying members.

Unlock a page or space

The quickest way is from the page itself:

  1. In the admin panel, open Spaces & roles, pick the space in the Space menu and press Space settings.
  2. Under Who can see it, choose Role holders and pick the roles that unlock it.
  3. Press Save.

Guild adds the page's permission reward to each role you picked, and members see the page among the role's rewards. See Pages and spaces.

Add a permission reward to a role

  1. In the admin panel, open Spaces & roles, select the role, and under Unlocks press Add reward.
  2. Pick Permission.
  3. Permission type is Can view....
  4. Pick what it applies to: the Guild, a Page, a Role, a Reward or a Requirement, and then which one.
  5. Press Add permission.

How it works for members

Permission rewards are granted automatically while a member holds the role. Nothing needs claiming. When they lose the role, the permission goes with it, and the page or item is hidden from them again.

Gotchas

  • Today permission rewards grant view access only. Letting role holders edit parts of the guild is not offered.
  • A view permission is only meaningful for something hidden from everyone else. Set the item's own visibility first, for example a role's Who can see it in its inspector.
