Your profile
Your handle, appearance, showcase, profile level and privacy on Guild.
This page is for members. It explains your Guild profile: how people find you, what they see, how to make it yours, and what stays private.
Your handle is your address
Your @handle is how people identify you on Guild. It is in your profile address (guild.xyz/profile/yourhandle), on your hover card and in chat.
- A claimed handle is one you pick yourself, 3 to 20 letters, numbers or underscores. Claiming one needs Guild Plus. It is yours while you subscribe, and held for two years after Plus ends.
- Without one, your X handle is used, if you connected X and haven't hidden it.
- Without either, your profile address is your user id.
Onchain names such as ENS names and Basenames are never used as an address.
Make it yours
Open your profile and press Edit profile. The page and your hover card update as you type, and a chat preview shows how you look in a space.
- Name, bio, pronouns and location. Free members can change their display name once every 30 days. Plus has no limit.
- Picture and banner. Upload a PNG, JPEG, WebP or GIF. Animated pictures, animated banners and gradient banners are part of Plus.
- Theme colour. It tints your card and, with Plus, colours your name in chat. Names are always kept readable in both light and dark themes.
- Avatar frame and profile effect. A frame wraps your picture, and an effect plays once when someone opens your profile.
- Links. Up to six. Links to accounts you've connected carry a verified mark.
- Onchain name. Optional. Pick an ENS name or Basename that resolves to one of your wallets and it shows as a small verified chip. It is only a label. Guild checks it again about once a week through its own nodes; if the name stops pointing at one of your wallets, the chip is removed. With a name linked you can also use the picture set on the name as your avatar: it is copied once when you save, from an image link, IPFS or an NFT that one of your wallets holds on Ethereum or Base.
Frames and effects
Some are free for everyone. Others come from Plus, from an achievement, from your profile level, or from a guild that gave you one as a reward. A locked item shows what unlocks it. Plus unlocks the Plus set, and Annual unlocks the legendary set. Annual also gets each new item 4 weeks early, and Monthly Plus gets the legendary set 6 months after its release.
Showcase
Pick the roles, numbered roles, awards and guilds you're proudest of. Free profiles show 3, Plus 6 and Annual 9. Reaching profile level 10 and profile level 25 each adds one more, up to 9.
Guilds, roles and numbers
Your profile lists your guilds and the roles you hold in them, with your number on numbered roles. Boosting a guild and being a founding member of a pre-registered guild show next to it. Visitors see the guilds you choose to show. You can hide any guild.
Profile level
Your profile level rises as you earn renown by taking part in verified guilds you don't run: joining them, holding their public roles, showing up and voting, plus every active year on Guild. It never goes down, and nothing you can buy changes it. It unlocks frames, effects and extra showcase spots. Your profile shows it in a Profile level section, and you choose who sees it. See Profile levels.
Achievements and points
Achievements unlock as you use Guild, such as joining your first guild or holding a numbered role. Several unlock their own frames or effects. Your points balances and ranks appear beside them.
Activity and mutual guilds
Activity lists the guilds you joined, roles you earned, posts you made where the viewer can read them, and achievements. You can turn it off. When you visit someone else's profile, Mutual guilds shows what you have in common.
Privacy
- Private profile. Strangers see only your name, picture, handle, frame and badges. Members of a guild you share see the rest.
- Connected accounts. Each account is Public, Shared guilds (only people in a guild with you) or Hidden.
- Guild admins always see your connected accounts in the guilds they run, whatever you chose. It lets them tell real members from copies.
- Full wallet addresses are shown only to you and those admins.
- Profile level. By default it follows your profile's privacy. Show my profile level can turn it on or off. See who sees it.
Badges
- Verified person is granted by a manual review by Guild staff. It lasts a year.
- Profile level is your level mark and number. It shows only where your full profile shows, and only if you haven't hidden it.
- Plus and Annual show you support Guild.
- Booster and Founding member show in the guild you boosted or pre-registered for.
