Joining a guild
For members: connect accounts, meet requirements, join.
This page is for members. It explains how to join a guild, read what each role asks for, fix what's missing, and leave when you want to.
Open the guild and choose Sign in, or Sign in to join where the guild is open to join. You can sign in with a wallet, an email address or a social account. If you're new to Guild, signing in creates your account.
Signed out, a guild shows what its roles unlock and what they ask for, but not whether you meet it. Signing in is the only step until then.
If you turned on two-factor sign-in, Guild asks for your authenticator app, passkey or a recovery code after you sign in. See Account security to set it up, see where you're signed in and sign out other devices.
Join the guild
Press Join guild. Guild then checks every role in the guild and gives you the ones you already qualify for, with their rewards.
Some guilds are invite-only or gated. They show no Join guild button.
Connect your accounts
Requirements are checked against the wallets and accounts you connect to your Guild account. A role that asks you to follow an account on X needs your X account connected; a token requirement needs the wallet that holds the token.
You can connect accounts in two places:
- straight from a requirement, with its fix action, such as Connect X or Connect wallet
- on your account page, under Connected accounts
Each guild also lists the Accounts this guild checks, so you can see at a glance what's missing. You connect an account once, and every guild can check it.
Read a role card
A role card reads top to bottom:
- The role's name and your status. A role you hold says You have this.
- Unlocks: what the role gives you, such as spaces, Discord roles, Telegram groups, points and secrets.
- The role's description.
- The requirements, each with its status: Met, Not met, Not checked yet or Checking. A heading tells you how many you need: All of these, Any of these or Any 2 of these.
- A footer with your next step, for example "1 step left. Next: Connect X." and one button.
Fix actions
An unmet requirement often has a button that fixes it: Connect X, Connect wallet, Join the Discord, Follow @name, Subscribe on YouTube, Visit link or Fill out the form. Do what it asks, then check access again.
If an account was connected but its connection has expired, the button asks you to reconnect it instead, for example Reconnect X.
Check access
Guild checks your access when you open a guild, and it refreshes the data behind requirements in the background. When you've just done something, such as bought a token or followed an account, press Check access on the role, or Check all at the top of a space to check every role in it at once.
When you meet everything a role asks, the check gives you the role and its rewards.
Why a requirement says "Not checked yet"
A requirement shows Not checked yet when Guild doesn't have an answer for it yet. Common reasons:
- The data is still being fetched. Wait a moment and press Check access.
- The last check failed for a reason other than a missing account. Try again in a moment.
- You haven't joined the guild yet. Members can check their access.
If a requirement stays unchecked, reconnect the account it uses. For example, if you already meet a Discord requirement, reconnecting Discord refreshes its data.
Losing a role
When you stop meeting a role's requirements, you lose the role and, usually, its rewards: a Discord role is removed and a gated page locks again. You get a Role removed notification once the change has held for a short while; see Notifications. If you meet the requirements again, you get the role back the next time your access is checked.
Leave a guild
Choose Leave guild at the bottom of the guild's access panel and confirm. Leaving removes every role you had in the guild and what those roles gave you. You can join again later.
