Visit link
Open a link you choose.
A visit link requirement is met once a member opens a link you choose from Guild. Use it to point people at something before they get a role: your docs, an announcement, a sign-up page, a video.
Set it up
- Under Who gets it, press Requirement and pick Visit link.
- Paste the full address into Url, starting with
https://. - Press Add requirement.
Members see a Visit link button on the requirement. It opens your page through Guild, which records the visit. The requirement then counts as met, and Check access claims the role.
Gotchas
- The visit counts only when the member opens the link from the requirement in Guild. Opening the same page from anywhere else isn't recorded.
- Guild records that the link was opened, not that the page was read or a task on it was done. Combine it with a requirement that proves the task, such as a form or a follow, if that matters.
Examples
- Read the rules: Visit link to your community guidelines, required for the "Member" role.
- Watched the intro: Visit link to your onboarding video, worth 10 points.
Requirement type
This is the exact type the requirement picker offers, with its fields as you see them in the form.
