Verify an email address at a domain.
An email requirement checks the domain of a member's verified email address, for example that it ends in @yourcompany.com or @university.edu.
What it's for
Gate a role to the people of one organization: employees, students, alumni, or members of a partner. You can also do the opposite and keep one domain out.
Set it up
- Under Who gets it, press Requirement and pick Verify an email with domain.
- In Domain, enter the domain only, without the
@, for exampleyourcompany.com. - Leave Should have the above domain ticked to require that domain, or untick it to accept any domain except that one.
- Press Add requirement.
Gotchas
- Members connect an email address to their Guild account and confirm it before it can be checked.
- The domain must match the address exactly.
yourcompany.comdoes not matchmail.yourcompany.com; add a second requirement and combine them with Any one if you need both.
Examples
- Team: Verify an email with domain,
yourcompany.com. - Students: two email requirements,
university.eduandalumni.university.edu, with Any one.
Requirement type
This is the exact type the requirement picker offers, with its fields as you see them in the form.
